What’s The Best Sex Position To Get Pregnant?

If you're trying to conceive, you may be wondering what the best sex positions are to boost fertility and increase your chances of getting pregnant. While there is no one "right" position, there are certain positions that might give you a little head start. In this article, we'll explore some of the best sex positions to get pregnant.

One important factor to consider when trying to conceive is the angle of penetration. Positions that allow for deep penetration may be more effective at getting sperm closer to the cervix, increasing the chances of fertilization. Additionally, positions that allow for the sperm to remain inside the body for longer periods of time may also be beneficial.

It's important to keep in mind that there are many factors that can affect fertility, including age, overall health, and timing of intercourse. While sex positions may play a role in increasing your chances of conception, they are just one piece of the puzzle. It's always a good idea to speak with your doctor about any concerns or questions you may have about trying to conceive.

Understanding when you are most fertile

Female fertility

The most fertile time for most women is during ovulation, which occurs around day 14 of the menstrual cycle, however, it can vary depending on a number of factors like your cycle length and lifestyle. During ovulation, the egg is released from the ovary and travels down the fallopian tube, where it can be fertilized by sperm. It's important to note that sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for up to five days, so having sex a few days before ovulation can still result in pregnancy.

Male fertility

Men produce sperm constantly, but the quality and quantity of sperm can be affected by factors such as age, lifestyle, and health. To increase the likelihood of conception, men can take steps to improve their sperm quality, such as maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, and reducing stress. So, what are the best sex positions to get pregnant?

Whilst no sex positions have been proven to increase the likelihood of conception, some might give you a little head start. It’s been thought that positions that allow for deeper penetration & therefore get sperm a little closer to the cervix can help, so if you want to give it a go, then these are some positions to try:

  1. Reverse Cowgirl

One in five women have a ‘tipped uterus’ and if you’re among them, this might be the best sex position for getting pregnant! Facing away from your partner will give you a different angle of entry. You probably don’t know whether you have a tipped uterus or not, so give this one a go just in case!

  2. CAT (Coital Alignment Technique)

In this position, the woman splays out her knees so the man’s lower torso fits between. Then, instead of thrusting, the man and woman rock their pelvises together in rhythm, allowing the sperm to swim downstream. As an added bonus, this position may also help you climax!

  3. Legs on shoulders

Putting your legs on his shoulders is a variation of the missionary position that allows for even deeper penetration. Similarly, this position allows sperm to get closer to the cervix, while also having the benefit of gravity!

  4. Doggy style

In this position, the penis is able to reach the cervix at a different angle than in the missionary position. Additionally, the uterus is tilted forward in this position, which can help the sperm reach the egg more easily.

Remember to always communicate with your partner and prioritize your comfort and pleasure during sex. While the goal is to conceive, it's also important to enjoy the process and maintain a healthy and fulfilling sexual relationship with your partner.

Factors such as timing, fertility, and overall health also play a crucial role in conception. Therefore, it's important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, track your ovulation cycle, and consult with a healthcare professional if you are having trouble getting pregnant.
