What Are The Earliest Signs Of Pregnancy?

According to a recent survey, women typically take between 2 to 5 pregnancy tests when they think they have conceived, and, even with all the tests, 62% of women don’t believe their positive test results. So that got us thinking, what are the other signs you can look out for, and can you tell you’re pregnant before you’ve even taken a test?

We reached out to our community to ask: ‘How did you first find out you were pregnant?’ Here’s what we found out:

  • 35% of women knew they were pregnant from a positive test result

  • 23% of women knew they were pregnant because they missed a period

  • 23% of women knew they were pregnant because they had a ‘gut feeling’

  • 19% of women knew they were pregnant because they experienced symptoms (like nausea or sore breasts)

So, if you can tell before you test, what are the earliest signs of pregnancy you should be looking out for?! Baby2Body founder and CEO, Melinda Nicci has the answers…

The earliest signs of pregnancy vary from woman to woman, but some of the key ones are fatigue, feeling really tired when it's not normal to feel so tired, aversion to smell, aversion to some foods, even craving some foods. Also, you may start to feel a little bloated, your boobs may feel a little sore

There's other signs like spotting, cramps — when you think you're about to have a period and then the period actually doesn't come, that is actually an early sign of pregnancy. Your body's just adjusting to the egg implantation in your body, in your uterus, so there's all kinds of things that are triggered by that event.

Some of the other things to watch out for are frequent urination, back pain, feeling slightly nauseous in the morning, not feeling yourself, a little bit of brain fog, feeling a little bit tired, and then like super fatigued, going off food, being alerted to strange feelings in your body that you may not have felt before.

Your body's got an incredible way of telling you what is going on if you listen to the signs and that's really, really key. So tune in and listen to what your body's telling you.
